Rodions Kurucs

The Brooklyn Nets selected Rodions Kurucs with the 40th overall pick in the second round of the 2018 NBA Draft. Kurucs, who has played for FC Barcelona the last two seasons, has some good potential.

His offensive game is strong. His game is very comparable to fellow rookie Dzanan Musa. Kurucs can shoot the ball confidently from all areas of the floor and with precision. He shoots the 3-ball very well and can pull up off the dribble from mid-range well.

The 6-foot-9 small forward can drive great and finish through contact. His size is good, unlike Musa, but can still need some bulking.

On the defensive end, Kurucs uses his length and size to cover a lot of space. He is a steal threat like Musa and is not afraid to finish on the other end. He commonly gives opposing players too much space and easy points. Kurucs can block shots, but not every game.

He is expected to spend some time with the Nets G-League team; the Long Island Nets. He is not NBA-ready and like Musa, has a lot of questions hanging over his head.

Kurucs will have to use this Summer League play to prove he can be a great bench asset for Atkinson. His defense remains questionable whether or not it will transfer over to the NBA level.

Expect Kurucs to get around six to 15 minutes a game this Summer League.

Kurucs signed a four-year deal with the Brooklyn Nets shortly after he was drafted. This shows that Nets general manager Sean Marks trusts that Kurucs will be a good player.
