1. Shawn Dawson definitely knows how to score

Shawn Dawson came to Summer League with a reputation for being a slasher, based on his play over the last six seasons in the Israeli Basketball Premier League in his native country.

He lived up to that reputation in a big way Friday afternoon, slashing and dashing his way to 20 points in just 18 minutes.

His 3-point shot wasn’t there, as he hit just 1-for-5, but that also fits Dawson’s profile.

He was a 29.9 percent shooter from deep last season for Bnei Herzliya after going 0-for-2 from deep in four Summer League tilts for the Washington Wizards last year and missing his only attempt in the preseason with the New Orleans Pelicans.

You’ll see several of his runs to the rackin the highlights below.

Dawson got a bit out of control at times and his shot selection was questionable in spots.

But there’s no question he knows how to score and, at least based on the early returns, warrants a training camp invitation because, hey, you can never have enough wing scoring in today’s NBA.
