Shawn Dawson made the most of the opportunity in the Summer League. He played great and was one of Brooklyn’s best players.

On the offensive end, he did a great job scoring. Dawson is a strong shooter who can confidently shoot from behind the arc. He shot 4-for-13 from behind the arc in Las Vegas.

He has a strong mid-range game which not only includes shooting, but driving. Dawson can drive to the basket not only through traffic, but finish through hard contact. The guard can really put the ball on the floor and makes great decision with the ball.

He can be careless with the ball when it comes to passing, but he can help an offense. Throughout the Summer League, he controlled Brooklyn’s ball movement well and made his teammates play better.

On the defensive end, he plays with high pressure defense. He is a good backcourt defender, but commonly let players blow by him.

Overall, he had a good Summer League run. Now, Dawson’s future with Brooklyn is uncertain. Dawson has a decorated basketball resume in his native Israel and is one of the league’s top players.

He is likely to get a training camp invite, but due to Brooklyn’s competitive guard position, it is not likely he will see much action in a Nets uniform. If he does decide to stay within the Nets organization, he will play a good amount with the Long Island Nets.
