With Kawhi Leonard recently traded to the Toronto Raptors, the Brooklyn Nets have many reasons why Leonard should sign with them as an unrestricted free agent in 2019.

After months of the San Antonio Spurs-Kawhi Leonard saga, San Antonio traded Leonard to the Toronto Raptors. There are many reasons Leonard should sign with the Brooklyn Nets as an unrestricted free agent in 2019.

As it stands now, Kawhi is not interested in playing for the Raptors for years to come.

The NBA was taken by storm Wednesday when Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported that  Leonard and Danny Green were headed to Toronto for DeMar DeRozan, Jakob Poeltl and a top-20 protected first-round pick).

Shortly after the trade was reported, the NBA universe took social media by storm. As it stands right now, DeRozan’s loyalty to the Raptors has been disrespected and Leonard is not happy going to Toronto.

The Raptors took a huge risk in acquiring Leonard, hoping not only to compete for a championship but convince him to stay in Toronto after next season. Well, unfortunately for Toronto it does not seem likely Leonard will want to stay with the Raptors.

Toronto is hoping to pull a move similar to what the Oklahoma City Thunder were able to do with Paul George and convince Leonard to stay.

With Leonard likely departing the Raptors after the 2018-19 season, there is one team that would fit Leonard perfectly; the Brooklyn Nets.
