The Brooklyn Nets had just moved into their new home and were looking for a second star to pair with Deron Williams. They found their guy when they acquired six-time All-Star Joe Johnson from the Atlanta Hawks.

The Nets sent five salaries, a 2013 first-round pick and a 2017 second-rounder to the Hawks to get Johnson, who came to Brooklyn and did what he had done for a decade in the NBA already.

More from Nothin' But Nets

He earned a seventh All-Star nod with the Nets in 2014 and for a club with some injury issues in 2014-15, logged the ninth-most minutes in the NBA.

His first season in Brookyn was his most productive, as Johnson logged 16.3 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 36.7 minutes a game, shooting .3423/.375/.820.

In parts of four seasons with the Nets, Johnson put up 14.7 points, 3.8 boards and 3.4 dimes in 34.5 minutes a night on a slash line of .432/.378/.819.

In 25 playoff games over three postseasons, he averaged 18.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 39.6 minutes per game while shooting .459/.331/.829.

The Nets bought out the remainder of his deal in Feruary 2016 and as soon as he cleared waivers, he signed with the Miami Heat. As of this writing, Johnson remains unsigned for what would be his 18th NBA season next year after finishing out 2017-18 with the Houston Rockets.
