Former Brooklyn Nets guard Milton Doyle has reportedly agreed to a deal with UCAM Murcia in Spain. Doyle was on a 2-way contract with the Nets last year.

Former Brooklyn Nets guard Milton Doyle has reportedly agreed to terms on a deal to play with UCAM Murcia in the Spanish ACB and FIBA Europe’s Basketball Champions League.

Doyle played for the Nets last season on a two-way contract, appearing in 10 games with Brooklyn and 45 with the G League’s Long Island Nets.

More from Nothin' But Nets

Coming off the two-way deal, Doyle entered the summer as a restricted free agent, receiving a qualifying offer from the Nets on June 28. However, Brooklyn withdrew the QO and renounced his rights on July 13, according to Keith Smith of Real GM (via CBS Sports).

Spanish newspaper La Opinion de Murcia reported Sunday that Doyle had agreed to terms with UCAM Murcia, a Spanish club located in Murcia, Spain, with the condition he can leave if he is signed by an NBA club.

The Nets signed the undrafted free agent from Loyola of Chicago in August 2017 and waived him in the preseason in order to get his rights for Long Island, but he played so well in Uniondale that he earned a two-way contract on Dec. 18.

Doyle went undrafted after a solid four-year career with Loyola, where he started 98 of the 121 games in which he appeared, averaging 13.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.2 steals in 30.4 minutes per game in his career on .484/.344/.718 shooting.

He got a look from the Nets in the Las Vegas Summer League in 2017, where in four appearances off the bench, Doyle averaged 10.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in 16.4 minutes per game on .567/5-for-10/3-for-5 shooting.

Doyle’s job at Long Island was to score and he did it pretty well, putting up 20.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.5 steals in 35.4 minutes per game, but his shooting was streaky at .418/.371/.778.

With Brooklyn, Doyle struggled to find the bottom of the net, shooting .277/.174/4-for-8 in 10 games, averaging 3.4 points in 12.5 minutes a game.

His shooting woes extended to the Summer League last month, where Doyle started three of the Nets’ five games and averaged 8.8 points, 3.6 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.4 steals in 22 minutes per game, but shot a dismal .275/3-for-18/13-for-14.

UCAM Murcia was 17-17 in the Spanish ACB last season, finishing 10th, and placed third in FIBA Europe’s Basketball Champions League.

The team had one player with NBA experience last season, Brazilian big man Vitor Faverani, who was with the Boston Celtics in 2013-14.

The BCL was formed by FIBA Europe in 2015 and began play in 2016-17 in competition with the Euroleague-sponsored Euroleague and Eurocup competitions.

FIBA Europe considers it a second-tier competition below Euroleague, while that organization places BCL behind both of its continental circuits.

UCAM Murcia last qualified for the Eurocup in 2016-17 and has never played in Euroleague since the club was formed in 1986.

It spent four seasons in the 1st Division B before moving up to the ACB in 1990 and playing seven seasons, relegated in 1997 and promoted in 1998 and relegated again in 1999 before moving back up for one season in 2003-04.

Relegated after one season, UCAM Murcia earned promotion in 2006 and played four seasons in the top-tier circuit.
