Brooklyn Nets: 25 greatest individual games in team history
By Phil Watson
8. Roy Hinson vs. Philadelphia 76ers, March 22, 1988
A little more than two months earlier, the Philadelphia 76ers had traded Roy Hinson to the New Jersey Nets. On March 22, 1988, at Brendan Byrne Arena, Hinson showed the 76ers what they had given up.
The Nets were in the middle of another awful season and came into the night just 17-48. But Philadelphia was little better at 29-36 and on its way to missing the playoffs for the first time since 1975.

Hinson played well in his first two games against the 76ers as a member of the Nets, scoring 20 points in a Valentine’s Day win and putting up 19 in a Feb. 19 loss at the Spectrum.
But on this March night, Hinson could not miss. Seriously. He didn’t miss a shot all night long.
Hinson paced the Nets with 27 points and fellow ex-Sixer Tim McCormick added 22 as the Nets easily topped Philadelphia 102-90, offsetting the 22 points from former Net Mike Gminski.
Hinson was a perfect 13-for-13, a franchise record for most attempts without a miss, from the floor in 42 minutes and also made his only free throw, finishing with seven rebounds.
He played very well after the trade, averaging 17.6 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 36.4 minutes per game over the 48 games he was with the Nets, shooting ,502/0-for-1/.806.
Hinson would have just one more healthy season before knee problems plagued him into retirement.
