Late Monday night, Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie and New York Knicks big man Enes Kanter traded some blows over Twitter regarding a Knicks hot take.

Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie took some exception to a hot take on Twitter Monday night that led to some back-and-forth with New York Knicks big man Enes Kanter.

With just over two months left before the 2018-19 season begins, former NBA star Metta World Peace dropped a hot take regarding the 2019 Eastern Conference Finals. World Peace believes the Indiana Pacers and the Knicks will be the teams in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Shortly after NBA on ESPN tweeted out Metta World Peace’s hot take, Dinwiddie tweeted out his opinion on the prediction.

More from Nothin' But Nets

Yes, it is not likely the New York Knicks will make it to the Eastern Conference Finals. We can agree with Dinwiddie on this, but the Nets guard adds some heat in his response by stating the Knicks are not the best team in New York.

Last season, the New York Knicks went 29-53 while the Brooklyn Nets went 28-54. With the Knicks only winning one more game than the Nets last season, the debate over which team runs New York can be made.

Despite the similar records, the New York Knicks did accomplish a season sweep of the Brooklyn Nets, winning all four matchups last season.

We all know New York Knicks big man Enes Kanter is not afraid to speak his mind, especially if its about the Knicks. Well, it did not take long for Kanter to respond to Dinwiddie’s tweet.

Intriguing response from the Knicks big man, but we all expected a Kanter response to that one. It only took 20 minutes for Dinwiddie to zing Kanter back and this time he threw in a past experience Kanter is very familiar with.

The LeBron James-Enes Kanter feud began in a regular-season meeting between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the New York Knicks. After the Cavaliers scored on a play, LeBron James stood over Knicks guard Frank Ntilikina, causing the Knicks guard to bump the King.

Seconds later, Kanter got into the King’s face and a heated verbal argument was under way between the King and Kanter.

After the game, Kanter commented on the altercation and had some words for the King. James would later comment on Kanter comments, calling them corny and stating:

"“Well, I’m the king, my wife is a queen, and my daughter is a princess, so we got all three covered.”"

The James-Kanter feud would continue throughout the 2017-18 season.

Well, Kanter of course responded back to Dinwiddie, but took a lighter approach.

It will be interesting to see what will happen on the court between the Nets guard and the Knicks forward. To say the least, we can expect some trash talk during or after the game between the two.

The Brooklyn Nets will face the New York Knicks in their preseason opener on Oct. 3 and in their final preseason game on Oct. 12.
