Kenneth Faried (NBA 2K19 Player Rating 78)

The Denver Nuggets traded Kenneth Faried, Darrell Arthur, a top-12 protected 2019 first-round pick and a 2020 second-round pick for Isaiah Whitehead. The trade benefited both teams.

The Brooklyn Nets got a powerful frontcourt presence in Faried along with Arthur, who would later be traded to the Phoenix Suns, and future draft picks. The Nuggets on the other hand freed up needed cap space by moving Faried’s expiring contract worth $13,764,045.

  • At first, it looked like Brooklyn was going to buy out Faried’s expiring contract, but instead he is here to play. Now in a Nets uniform, Faried will get a bigger role and a possible potential starting job.

On the offensive end, Faried is an aggressive power forward. He plays like a traditional power forward. Faried does not shoot the ball much and focuses his game near the basket. He drives the ball well and looks to finish the play with a dunk.

His best offensive move is working with lob passes. Faried likes to catch lops and energize the crowd. This play earned Faried the nickname “Manimal” by Nuggets fan and the NBA universe quickly caught on to the name.

On the defensive end, Faried plays good defense. He is a strong frontcourt defender who defends well on driving plays. He uses his size and strength to stop drivers in their path and makes them throw up tough shots. Faried defends best on post-up plays.

He does not let his opponent get space and pushes him away from the paint.

Based on his play and other 78-rated power forwards, the rating is an accurate one. Other 78 rated power forwards include:

Faried can be bumped up to a 79. The 78 rating is accurate but based off other 79-rated power forwards, Faried can be in that category. A main reason why Faried was not rated a 79 is his role with the Nuggets. He did not get much playing time, which led to his stats lowering.

Now that he is a Brooklyn Net and will get a bigger role, we can expect Faried’s rating to go up.
