  • Since that game, Dinwiddie maintained consistent play throughout the 2017-18 season. Dinwiddie had one main role; to come off the bench, score, and defend at a high level.

On the offensive end, Dinwiddie is an all-around point guard. He can shoot the ball consistently from all areas of the floor especially from deep. Dinwiddie shot 32.6 percent from deep last season. The Nets guard is known for clutch moments down the stretch.

In fact, Dinwiddie shoots the ball the best in close scoring games.

To go along with his strong shooting is his aggressive driving game. Dinwiddie is an excellent driving point guard who is an acrobatic finisher. He does not fear bigger defender and embraces the contact when driving.

He does a good job balancing himself in the air in order to get a better shot off.

On the defensive end, Dinwiddie was the best defensive guard on the Nets roster last season. He plays consistent high level defense throughout each game and does a great job forcing steals. Dinwiddie averaged just under a steal a game last season (0.9).

To go along with his steals, he is an aware defender who helps out on trap plays. He double teams other opponents while keeping an eye on his initial guard.

Based on his breakout play last season and the impact he had on the Nets throughout the 2017-2018 season, a 79 rating is an accurate rating for Dinwiddie. In fact, Dinwiddie himself seemed to have no problem with the rating.

Dinwiddie has a good chance of boosting his rating up to an 80 during the 2018-2019 season. He will be the primary backup guard and will get more playing time. Last season, Dinwiddie averaged 28.8 minutes, 12.6 points, 6.6 assists, and 3.2 total rebounds.
