DeMarre Carroll (NBA 2K19 Player Rating 77)

DeMarre Carroll is coming off the best season of his career. He thrived in Kenny Atkinson’s pace-and-space offense and played great on the defensive end.

On the offensive end, Carroll used all areas of the court. He can shoot the 3 ball at a high level and is arguably the best 3-and-D player on the Brooklyn Nets roster. Carroll shot 37.1 percent from behind the arc. To go along with his strong 3-point shooting is his mid-range game.

  • Carroll has a great mid-range presence when he is on the court for Brooklyn. He uses all areas of the floor and can play multiple positions. Last season, Carroll played minutes at the 3, 4, and even the 5.

He only played a couple minutes total at the 5, but that was due to the Nets lack of center depth.

He shoots the mid-range jumper at a high level. Carroll shoots best from mid-range from the corners off kick-out passes. To go along with his mid-range shooting is his stronger driving game. Carroll is an aggressive driver who likes to draw contact.

He finishes with both hands and drives good through contact.

On the defensive end, he is one of Brooklyn’s best defenders. As said before, he is arguably the best 3-D defender on the Nets. He is a steal threat and plays aggressive defense. Carroll uses his length to poke the ball out of players hands.

In fact, Carroll averaged just under a steal a game (0.8).

Based on his play and other 77 rated small forwards, his rating is an accurate rating. Other 77-rated small forwards include:

His 77 rating can go up next season, but not by a lot. It could rise to a 78, but that will be based on his individual play. Carroll is not a player who goes for stats. He focuses his game around his teammates and is a team player.

When on the court, his teammates play better and get more looks and touches.
