The Brooklyn Nets have not had a major award winner in 27 years and counting, but these are the players who could have a chance for each NBA award.

The Brooklyn Nets are one of the few NBA teams filled with young talent and bright futures. The 2018-19 season will be a huge season for the Nets due to their wishful 2019 offseason plans.

More from Nothin' But Nets

With $50 million to $70 million in cap space possible, which can translate to two max deals, Brooklyn will have to show signs of winning and improvement. If they show these signs in 2018-19, it will give Brooklyn more leverage in the 2019 free agent market.

With a lot riding on the 2018-19 season, many players will have to step up and have career years. A couple of Nets need a breakout seasons, not just for Brooklyn to win but to secure their Net futures.

With all of this said, can a Brooklyn Net win an NBA award in 2018-19? Spencer Dinwiddie came close in the Most Improved Player race, but could not beat out Victor Oladipo of the Indiana Pacers.

The Nets haven’t had a major award winner since Derrick Coleman was named Rookie of the Year in 1990-91, so it could be said Brooklyn is due.

These are the Net players who have a chance of being a candidate for each NBA award.
