The Brooklyn Nets want to take the next step in their rebuilding process with an improved record. Doing so will be much easier with a good start.

Now that the Brooklyn Nets schedule has been released, one thing is imperative: the Nets must find their groove early in the season.

The year starts on the road in the Motor City and with that being the case, the Nets must start strong early to ensure that things don’t get ugly later on in the year. From Nov. 23-Dec. 26, the Nets will only be flying once, to D.C.

With that being said, the Nets have an opportunity to find a rhythm during this month, and a unique opportunity to win a lot of basketball games around the Tri State area.

The Nets are young, with an average age of 25.1 years old, and the season is most certainly going to be a tough one that will test the grit of everybody on the team. When all is said and done, these four weeks will make or break the Nets season.

If the Nets can get plenty of wins during this span, it could very well propel the Nets into the playoffs. If the season goes downhill, the Nets could end up making significant moves at the trade deadline, setting up for the draft.

In the end, fans are hopeful for a strong December that will push the Nets towards the postseason.

Not only will a great start to the season help out the Nets record in the standings, but it could also serve as a springboard that the Nets have yet to find since the move to Brooklyn. What many around the Nets organization have said is that all this young team needs is confidence.

If the Nets can perform and create a springboard off of wins in November and December at home, the stretch on the road in March could be manageable, if they find a swagger and confidence early in the year.

As we hope for the best in December, it is all speculation as to what road the Nets will go down this season. Kenny Atkinson already said on the Michael Kay Show just a couple weeks ago that tanking is not even discussed among the coaching staff and Sean Marks.

Will the Nets find an identity as a team and make a playoff push? Will they go after a free agent star in a deadline trade or wait for the summer? All that is certain is that this season is sure to be a fun and interesting one for Nets fans.
