D. 8 MIN, 1 AST, 2 TOV, +4. PG. Brooklyn Nets. JORDAN MCLAUGHLIN

Jordan McLaughlin is a long shot to be with the Brooklyn Nets this season. He’s an undersized point guard (read: defensive liability) who struggled with his shot both in Summer League and Wednesday night.

McLaughlin missed two attempts against the Knicks, both from 3-point range and both rather badly. He also turned the ball over twice, including one sequence where he simply fell down and the ball bounced out of bounds in the backcourt.

It was not the most impressive way to show an organization they should consider you part of the plan.

McLaughlin has some skills — he was a four-year starter at USC and can handle the ball well … most of the time.

But the jersey with “Nets” emblazoned across the front that McLaughlin will be wearing this season will be Long Island blue rather than Brooklyn black.
