4. Harris finding the range

Joe Harris got a nice contract as a free agent, a reward for a terrific season last year in which he shot 49 percent overall and 42 percent from 3-point range, the best mark on the Brooklyn Nets.

But in the preseason, Harris just wasn’t feeling it, certainly not from behind the arc.

In four preseason tilts, the former second-round pick of the Cleveland Cavaliers shot 46 percent overall, but was just 7-of-24 (29.2 percent) from the great beyond.

The shot looked good, but was just not dropping for him.

That continued into opening night in Detroit. With injuries pushing Harris into a starting role, the only 3 ball he made in seven attempts was a big one, a shot that cut Detroit’s lead to 101-100 in the final minute or so of play.

But he’s heated up since, hitting 3-of-4 from deep in Friday night’s win over the New York Knicks and canning 5-of-6 against the Pacers.

He’s now shooting 9-for-17 for the season (52.9 percent), so any concerns anyone might have had about whether Harris was going to get straight can be pushed aside.

Harris did have a little bit of trouble finishing through Indiana’s handsy, aggressive defense Saturday, going just 1-for-5 from 2-point range.

But if he can be around 52 percent overall and 53 percent from deep, we’ll take that. Any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
