PF. Brooklyn Nets. JARED DUDLEY. B. 27 MIN, 7 PTS, 3-for-5 (1-for-2), 5 REB (1 ORB), 3 AST, 2 PF, 1 STL, +3

Less Jared Dudley on Friday night was more Jared Dudley.

Dudley drew a significant amount of fan ire after scoring one point in 36 minutes Wednesday at Detroit while being abused by Blake Griffin at the defensive end (to be fair, it was a gross mismatch from the start).

Dudley played less in the home opener, but was very solid. He got boards when they were there, hit open shots when he had them and moved the ball well, much more decisively and smartly than in Detroit.

He’s keeping the spot warm for Rondae Hollis-Jefferson. We all know that. But if he can be a net positive and not do things to actively hurt the club, Dudley can be an asset to this team.

He had the best plus/minus on the team Friday night at +3 and played a solid, if unspectacular, game. That’s really the most we can ask for.

C. 23 MIN, 11 PTS, 4-for-6 (3-for-4), 4 REB, 1 AST, 5 PF, 4 TO, +2. SF. Brooklyn Nets. JOE HARRIS

Joe Harris found the shooting stroke he had been missing, knocking down 3-of-4 from deep after struggling to a 1-for-7 mark opening night, but he also turned the ball over — a lot — and got himself into foul trouble.

Yes, he had some calls not go his way, but he also did some things like grabbing and reaching instead of moving his feet — uncharacteristic for a player who normally doesn’t do that sort of thing.

The shooting, in particular, was a welcome change after Harris had been struggling with his shot throughout most of the preseason and into the opening game.

And he remains one of the most sneaky-good finishers at the rim in the NBA.
