4. Anything good from last 2 games negated

After nearly pulling off a win in New Orleans and then making a game, but unsuccessful, comeback against Golden State, the Brooklyn Nets had created some positive buzz about how hard they worked, how far they’d come, how close they were to a breakthrough.

And then they put up an absolute barf fest in the process of getting their tails kicked by a team that had lost five games in a row.

After a quick start, they just shut down. They went through the motions. Offensively, they were so far out of sync that they couldn’t have found the location of sync with a map.

Defensively, their effort on the boards was laughably bad as they were outrebounded 53-32 and gave up 16 offensive rebounds.

So instead of the little engine that could, what you have instead is a bad team that got up for games against better opposition and then sank back to their depths when facing an opponent as woeful as they are.

I mean, the Knicks are a bad team whose best player is still at least four months away from seeing any action at all. These are the wins you have to have if you’re serious about improving your record and if you’re not serious, then just be honest about it.
