The Brooklyn Nets will be trying to close out a three-game homestand with a win and a 2-1 mark Sunday evening when they host the Philadelphia 76ers at Barclays Center.

The Nets (3-6) have lost four of their last five games after a 2-2 start, most recently squandering a 14-point first-half lead Friday night in a 119-111 loss to the Houston Rockets.

Philadelphia (6-4) has won four of its last five and two in a row following a 109-99 victory at home Saturday afternoon against the Detroit Pistons. The 76ers are 0-4 on the road this season, however.

Brooklyn is 2-2 at Barclays Center and Sunday’s game will be their last at home before embarking on a four-game road swing through the Western Conference.

The loss Friday night to the Rockets was a disheartening one, as the Nets did pretty much anything they wanted to offensively for much of the first half before Houston clamped down after halftime.

Caris LeVert paced the Nets with a career-high 29 points to go with three steals in the loss. Jarrett Allen finished with 10 points and eight rebounds, Joe Harris went for 18 points and four assists.

It was Joel Embiid showing the way for the 76ers against Detroit on Saturday as he finished with 39 points, 17 rebounds and two blocked shots. Ben Simmons added five assists and five steals.

Since the Nets entered the NBA in 1976, they trail the series to the 76ers, going 81-111, with Philadelphia holding the longest winning streak in the series. The 76ers took eight straight from the Nets from Nov. 6, 2009, to April 1, 2011.

The 76ers scored a series-high 142 points against the New Jersey Nets in a 142-107 win at The Spectrum in Philadelphia on Feb. 5, 1986. The most lopsided win in the series belongs to Brooklyn, a 130-94 win at Barclays Center on Dec. 16, 2013.

Bojan Bogdanovic has the highest-scoring game by a Net against the 76ers when he poured in 44 points in a 131-114 win at Barclays Center on March 15, 2016.

For Philadelphia, Charles Barkley scored 43 points against the New Jersey Nets in a 115-100 win at The Spectrum on Feb. 19, 1988, a total matched by Allen Iverson in a 110-102 win at First Union Center in Philadelphia on March 1, 2002.

Since the Nets moved to Brooklyn in 2012, they lead the series 13-11, but have lost the last three, including the most recent meeting at Barclays Center.

Philadelphia led most of the way, with Brooklyn holding its last lead with it was 16-15 with 4:52 remaining in the first quarter.

Ersan Ilyasova added 11 points and 13 rebounds for the 76ers, while Ben Simmons finished with 15 points, 12 rebounds and six assists. Amir Johnson also dished out six assists, Robert Covington had 12 points, four steals and three blocks and Richaun Holmes scored 11 points with four blocks.
