Brooklyn Nets: Player grades from a solid road win at New York
By Phil Watson
DeMarre Carroll‘s shooting remains inconsistent, with Saturday’s performance pushing his slash line to .344/.308/.824.
But his work on the offensive window was solid, his defensive efforts remain top-notch and he does a solid job of keeping the ball moving and finding open spots on offense.
He’s just not finishing the shots, which has been an almost-constant state since his return from ankle surgery on Nov. 9.
Ed Davis has ascended to the level of rebounding royalty at this point. With eight boards in 20 minutes, five on the offensive end, Davis remained the NBA leader in offensive rebounding percentage, grabbing 16.7 percent of the available boards off the Nets’ window.
His 22.4 overall rebounding percentage is second in the league behind Hassan Whiteside of the Miami Heat.
Per-36 minutes, Davis averages 17.5 rebounds, 6.8 on the offensive glass.
Throw in a solid eight points and no fouls and it was a nice night at the office for the King of Caroms.
