JARRETT ALLEN. C+. 15 MIN, 11 PTS, 5-for-6, 1-for-1 FT, 4 REB (2 ORB), 4 PF, 1 TO, 2 BLK, +15. C. Brooklyn Nets

Jarrett Allen was extremely effective while on the floor Sunday. The problem was that he wasn’t on the floor all that much due to foul trouble.

Allen scored 11 points in just 15 minutes on a hyper-efficient 5-of-6 afternoon and is shooting 59.6 percent for the season.

After struggling from the foul line early in the season, Allen is on a streak of 17 consecutive makes over his last six games, pushing his percentage on the season to 73.6 in the process.

But this was the second time in the last three games Allen was relegated to less than 20 minutes. Against the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday it was because he was having trouble containing Joel Embiid, while Sunday was all about fouls, some of them of the sorta-silly variety.

5 MIN, 2 PTS, 2-for-2 FT, 1 STL, 1 TO, -4. PG. Brooklyn Nets. SHABAZZ NAPIER. C

Shabazz Napier got off the bench for the first time in five games as he has been the odd man out with the elevation of rookie Rodions Kurucs to coach Kenny Atkinson’s 10-man rotation.

Napier’s one contribution was a steal that led to a fast-break opportunity. He was fouled on a clear-path play and sank both free throws.

He later turned the ball over as the teams played out the clock.

5 MIN, 1 REB, 1 AST, 1 PF, 1 TO, -4. C. Brooklyn Nets. KENNETH FARIED. C

For Kenneth Faried, Sunday marked his first playing time in more than two weeks, since the Brooklyn Nets loss to the Washington Wizards in D.C. on Dec. 1.

He has played in just nine of the 30 games in which he’s been available for a total of 50 minutes as the descent from USA national team starter to “hey didn’t you used to be Kenneth Faried?” has basically bottomed out.

He did grab one rebound, made a nifty pass for an assist and got a little aggressive on a pick to pick up an offensive foul and a turnover.

It’s hard to think a guy who can still get after the boards as well as Faried can’t find at least rotational minutes and perhaps something can be worked out to move him before the Feb. 7 trade deadline, because it’s apparent coach Kenny Atkinson doesn’t see a fit for The Manimal in Brooklyn.
