Atlanta Hawks

Cap status: Over by $4.3 million

Expiring contracts: Jeremy Lin ($13.8 million), Dewayne Dedmon ($7.2 million), Justin Anderson ($2.5 million), Vince Carter ($1.5 million), Tyler Dorsey ($1.4 million), Daniel Hamilton ($1.3 million)

Kenneth Faried for Jeremy Lin anyone?

It’s the one deal that works with the money involved with both teams over the salary cap.

Buuuut ….

As you might have heard, the Nets once had Jeremy Lin. They traded him to the Atlanta Hawks about five months ago. It was in all the papers and everything.

While professional sports is a realm where you really never say never, Lin’s return to Brooklyn would create the same problem GM Sean Marks was looking to alleviate when he made the deal in the first place — three point guards, one basketball.
