Brooklyn Nets: Christmas wishes to some current, former NBA execs
By Phil Watson
Not even a card, Danny Ainge? Really?
Dear Danny:
Hope you enjoyed those four first-round picks in five years. The Brooklyn Nets aren’t sure if you have or not, given we’ve hardly heard from you since you took Billy King’s lunch money, dinner money, tuition money, mortgage money, car payment money and life insurance policy back in ’13.
But hey, at least you sent us three guys that weren’t quite eligible to join AARP and one kid you were never going to play, so there’s that.
Not even a phone call at the holidays, though, Danny? That hurts. Would your team be on the cusp of being the dominant power in the East (or so lots of folks thought) without what the Brooklyn Nets did for you? Of course not.
Let’s be honest, you even used us to get Kyrie Irving from Cleveland with the last pick you got in the biggest heist since D.B. Cooper hit that bank in Washington state.
So enjoy the toys. Just don’t call us. We’ll call you.
