Ed Davis and Jarrett Allen basically split the time at center on Sunday and Davis put together another one of his solid performances.

He had a game-high 13 rebounds, knocked down 3-of-4 shots and was tough on the interior defensively.

It’s what he does. It’s who he is — a solid pro delivering a solid performance.

Brooklyn Nets. JARRETT ALLEN. A. 24 MIN, 19 PTS, 6-for-8, 7-for-9 FT, 6 REB, 2 PF, 1 TO, 2 BLK, +12. C

It was Jarrett Allen 4, United Center rims 0 on Sunday.

Allen went to the rim with fury against the Chicago Bulls and when he wasn’t dunking on someone, he was getting fouled and hitting his free throws.

In limited minutes, Allen had one of his best performances of the season coming off the heels of a terrific game Friday against the Memphis Grizzlies.

He’s blocked at least two shots (actually exactly two shots) in five straight games (you can ask Bulls forward Chandler Hutchison about that) and one of them demonstrated the combination of smarts and athleticism that makes you realize how high this kid’s ceiling really is.

Allen roamed out to the corner to challenge a shot. Hutchison gathered in the rebound on the weak side and, knowing Allen had vacated the paint, went back up for a putback attempt.

Except Allen was already back and came across the lane to spike the shot into the floor.

That was just scary good defense.
