2003: Richard Jefferson
Second-year forward Richard Jefferson represented the New Jersey Nets in the 2003 Rookie Challenge and played well, scoring 21 points with four assists and three steals in 24 minutes.
Jefferson hit 10-of-14 from the floor in the game and helped the Sophomores to a lopsided 132-112 victory over the Rookies.
Gilbert Arenas of the Golden State Warriors nailed down MVP honors, scoring 30 points with three steals and draining 6-of-12 from 3-point range for the Sophomores. It was the second straight year a Warriors was named MVP.
2002: Kenyon Martin
Second-year forward Kenyon Martin made his second straight appearance in the Rookie Challenge in 2002, playing with the Sophomores at First Union Center at Philadelphia.
Martin played 25 minutes and scored 17 points with five steals and a block, hitting 7-of-14 overall and 2-of-3 from 3-point range, but the Sophomore were upset by the Rookies 103-97.
Rookie Jason Richardson of the Golden State Warriors was named MVP with 26 points and six rebounds.
