Brooklyn Nets: 3 takeaways from perfect ending in finale against Heat

2. LeVert looking solid entering postseason
Caris LeVert played only 20 minutes Wednesday night, but scored 10 points on just five shots, going 4-for-5 and nailing his only 3-point attempt.
He also had four assists in his short stint and finished the 40 games he played this season averaging a career-high 13.7 points along with 3.9 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game.
While he shot 42.9 percent overall and 31.2 percent from 3-point range, his numbers have been much better over his last eight games.
Over that span, LeVert averaged 16.0 points, 4.3 assists, 3.1 boards and 1.1 steals and shot 48.9 percent overall and a Joe Harris-like 45.2 percent on 3.9 3-point attempts a night.
A healthy LeVert is a big plus for the Nets entering the playoffs, because he’s another weapon off an already potent bench unit and his ability to switch easily from the 1, 2 and 3 spots on both ends of the floor gives Brooklyn added flexibility.
It took awhile for LeVert to get his groove back after returning from a 42-game absence recovering from a dislocated right foot, but he’s shown over the last three weeks that he is, in fact, all the way back.
LeVert opened the season on a tear, averaging 20.3 points per game over the Nets’ first 12 games before having a clunker (four points on 1-of-6 shooting) in a loss at Golden State on Nov. 10 before getting hurt in Brooklyn’s next game at Minnesota.
He gives the Nets some good defensive options against a Philadelphia team that features the league’s biggest point guard in 6-foot-10 Ben Simmons to go with sharpshooter J.J. Redick and former All-Star Jimmy Butler on the wings.
