Brooklyn Nets: 3 reasons why Caris LeVert could be a game-changer
By Phil Watson
2. LeVert’s length leaves matchups languishing
Caris LeVert has outstanding length and good quick feet, making him a valuable wing defender for the Brooklyn Nets.
LeVert only carries 204 pounds on his 6-foot-7 frame, so you want to limit his banging against 4s and 5s, but he can guard 1 through 3 on the perimeter extremely well.
He combines that 6-foot-7 size with quick feet and a 6-foot-10 wingspan.
LeVert is very adept at reading passing lanes and keeping his hands active. In just 40 games this season, LeVert posted a five-steal game (in his return from injury against the Chicago Bulls on Feb. 8) and had three other games in which he had at least three steals.
LeVert posted multiple thefts 10 times this season.
He had four steals in Brooklyn’s first win this season over their playoff opponents, the Philadelphia 76ers,
His defensive versatility on the perimeter makes LeVert much more than just a scorer and he can change games with his ability to get stops.
