Finishing out the NBA mock draft

We’ll take it home from here, with attention to the Brooklyn Nets’ pick at No. 31 overall to open the second round.

SF. Iowa State. Talen Horton-Tucker. 28. player. 41.

Versatility? Talen Horton-Tucker’s got it — he can go from 1 to 4 without needing to downshift. The Golden State Warriors are a good fit for a player who compares favorably to Draymond Green.

As a freshman at Iowa State, the bulky Horton-Tucker averaged 11.8 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 steals in 27.2 minutes per game on 40.6 percent shooting overall and 30.8 percent on 4.5 attempts per game from 3-point range.

PG. Purdue. Carsen Edwards. 29. player. 29.

The San Antonio Spurs get the Toronto Raptors’ pick at No. 29 and Carsen Edwards projects as a player who could fit well with the Spurs as a scoring point guard.

As a junior at Purdue, Edwards put up 24.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.3 steals in 35.4 minutes per game, shooting 39.3 percent overall and 35.5 percent on a whopping 10.6 3-point attempts per game.

. SF. Washington. Matisse Thybulle. 30. player. 89

Matisse Thybulle is a slasher and an adequate shooter that could add punch to the Milwaukee Bucks bench. But defense is his calling card.

A four-year starter at Washington, Thybulle averaged 9.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 3.5 steals and 2.2 blocks in 31.1 minutes per game, hitting 41.5 percent overall and 30.5 percent on 4.2 deep tries per game as a senior. But he was a career 35.8 percent shooter from long range.

Second round: Nets go for a big wing

Admiral Schofield is huge for a wing at 238 pounds on a 6-foot-5 frame and is a solid rebounder for his size and could be a bigger Treveon Graham-type, although quicker players can give him some problems defensively.

As a senior at Tennessee, Schofield averaged 16.5 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 31.8 minutes per game, shooting 47,4 percent overall and a solid 41.8 percent on 4.8 deep tries per game.
