Brooklyn Nets general manager Sean Marks picked up a suspension and a $25,000 fine for confronting the officials after Saturday’s loss, but the message was worth it.
With Monday coming to an end and a long day ahead before Game 5 back in Philadelphia, Brooklyn Nets fans are in the mud waiting. The Nets haven’t been in the playoff mix since 2015 and the fan base hasn’t been in playoff mode in quite some time.
Fans outside of the playoffs forget how hard it is as a fan during these times. The entire Nets Nation is fighting, staying up late, sweating out every single game and holding onto every source of hope at this point in the series.
It’s no secret the Nets could’ve won the last game at home, before heading back to Philly all square. But here we are. The Sixers are up 3-1, headed home with the Nets on their heels. But have no fear, we have Sean Marks.
No matter what the outcome is, the future is bright. Sean Marks is willing to throw hands for this franchise.
Forget about the money, that’s chump change to Marks. What matters is that the Nets have assembled a staff that gets it. Marks knows the game of basketball far more than most other general managers around the Association.
As a player, he understands the emotion and pulse of his team. That kind of emotion and understanding is special, and is the source of my Monday Motivation. If Sean Marks is gonna fight, then hell, I’ll fight through Monday and Tuesday right until tip.
Nets fans everywhere are exhausted. We are in pain. Fans are pulling out the fan PEDs; coffee, beer and pizza just to get through Monday and Tuesday.
We’re tired and stressed, but remember two things: the Nets are back and our general manager would run through a wall for our team. He also gives us free Modelos. Couldn’t leave that one out.
