Caris LeVert

His breakout performance in the postseason was just a taste of Caris LeVert‘s true potential.

The top priority for LeVert is to improve his overall leg strength because he has suffered multiple lower leg and foot injuries throughout his career. The key to LeVert becoming a star is keeping him healthy.

His offseason load management should be closely monitored as another devastating injury could derail his career and destroy his value to the team.

LeVert qualifies to participate in the NBA Summer League because he missed 42 games due to injury this season, but if he does play, his minutes should be limited. His work in the weight room and 5-on-5 drills should be increased.

The Brooklyn Nets would love to extend LeVert’s contract before his rookie contract expires after next season, but that may be too risky given his injury history and the Nets salary-cap situation right now.

In terms of on-court improvements, LeVert must increase his free throw percentage to above 75 percent, ideally getting as close to 80 percent as possible. This is a must as his game is tailor made for drawing fouls.

He’s already shown his shooting range from deep is improving. Becoming a more consistent 3-point shooter should continue to be a focal point in his development.

LeVert has a great first step, deceptive dribble moves and a variety of ways to finish once he gets into the paint. Becoming a consistent deep threat will create even more space for him to operate when defenders are forced to respect his 3-point shooting.
