Al-Farouq Aminu
Al-Farouq Aminu is another player Portland may not be able to afford to keep. Aminu could be an excellent veteran glue guy for Brooklyn.

This year he averaged 9.4 points and a solid 7.5 rebounds per game. He is a much improved free throw shooter, boasting an impressive 86.7 percent mark, albeit on only two attempts per game.
He is also a vastly improved 3-point shooter. He shot 34.3 percent from deep last season, which is respectable for a 6-foot-9, 220-pound forward who also bangs down low for rebounds. He could be the 3-and-D player the Nets are looking for at the right price.
Aminu’s stats don’t do his game justice. He has a high basketball IQ and makes good decisions. He is a hustler who never gives up on plays. He brings intangibles the Nets could use.
That style of play is contagious. He turns 29 this year and would be a solid veteran leader for the Brooklyn Nets as Aminu has a lot of playoff experience.
The only potential negative of signing Aminu would be his minutes would have to come at the expense of the promising and developing Rodions Kurucs.
However, that knife can cut both ways. Rodi could learn physicality from Aminu and by losing minutes to Aminu, Rodi’s value would stay low for when the Nets are ready to re-sign Kurucs, if they still want to.
