As the Brooklyn Nets fan base anticipates a major swing into free agency, it’s worth remembering there are star-caliber players in waiting right now.

Championships don’t come unless teams have a solid foundation and Grade A players. The Brooklyn Nets have much potential in their chase for star players to take the team to new heights.

Here are three players on the current Brooklyn Nets roster with some real star potential.

More from Nothin' But Nets

Jarrett Allen, C

When looking at young players in the league, one must look no further than the Nets’ center, Jarrett Allen. The 21-year-old averaged almost 11 points and eight rebounds per game in the 2018-19 regular season.

Allen also showed out some great leadership abilities with his rebounding and rim protection as well. He showed some improvement in the Nets playoff series by improving his defense against the 76ers.

Allen has the potential to move from his 10 points per game and skyrocket to an average of 16-18 points a game with more training and experience.

The NBA can look to see more of Jarrett Allen and more improvement from his game in the upcoming seasons as this Brooklyn player is just getting started.

D’Angelo Russell, PG

It’s no surprise that the Nets have one of the best young point guards in the league. D’Angelo Russell is by far their biggest player. Russell has become the poster boy for the Nets and shows it every single game with his amazing production.

In the 2018-19 season, Russell averaged 21 points and seven assists per game.

With only four years in the league, Russell is one of the most talked-about point guards in the NBA and the most talked-about star for the Brooklyn Nets. He has became one of team’s clutch players as he has improved his 3-point percentage and landed them in crucial moments of the game.

Russell is already a star but the potential of him achieving a championship with the Nets does not seem too far from his game.

Joe Harris, SF-SG

Since 2016, Joe Harris has been a rising star for the Nets. In the 2018-19 season, Harris averaged 14 points per game.

Harris is now a five-year veteran and has turned his career completely around since being waived out of the NBA by the Orlando Magic in 2016.

Joe is one of those unique players who can really make a difference in a team with consistency and a little bit more experience. Harris’ ability to shoot the ball is key to his star potential. He has been among the best 3-point shooters for the Nets and led the NBA in that category this season.

He has been compared to some of the most notable 3-point shooters in the league like Stephen Curry. He is one of those players who can help attain championship status with a solid team effort.
