NBA Mock Draft 2.0: Narrowing down the picks after lottery, combine
By Phil Watson
The third Dukie to be take in the first seven picks in this mock draft, Cam Reddish is the biggest risk of the three after a disappointing freshman season for the Blue Devils.
Reddish arrived in Durham as the No. 2-ranked recruit in the country before shooting just 35.6 percent overall and 33.3 percent on 7.4 3-point attempts per game last season.
He didn’t do much else, either, averaging 3.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.6 steals to go with 13.5 points per game.
But the potential appears to be there, with a 7-foot-1 wingspan and solid playmaking skills for a wing. He has terrific range on his shot, but recognizing good looks from not-so-good ones will be a work in progress.
The biggest concern for a potential lottery pick was what seemed to be a willingness to simply defer to higher-profile teammates Zion Williamson and RJ Barrett as the season went on. His love affair with the pull-up 3 — Reddish may never met one he wouldn’t hoist — needs to be checked as well.
