Conclusion
The Allen Crabbe trade has given the Brooklyn Nets the ability to sign two star free agents on maximum contracts. It also added a useful piece in Taurean Prince to the Nets roster.
Rumors aside, this gives general manager Sean Marks tremendous leverage to go after two stars in free-agency who could drastically improve the Nets moving forward.
Marks needed to make the Crabbe deal now. It was a top priority. This was the first important hurdle to leap over just to get a seat at the bargaining table with two top players in free agency for potential pairings in Brooklyn.
This was the first domino to fall and will likely culminate into a series of moves made by Marks in his bid to make Brooklyn a serious contender for years to come.
Only Marks and his innermost circle know the ultimate master plan, but so far so good.
