If the Brooklyn Nets were to pull off signing their top two free agent targets in Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant, what could the rotation look like next season?
As we reach the home stretch prior to one of the biggest free agency periods in franchise history, a tantalizing possibility feels more realistic than ever: the Brooklyn Nets signing both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant.

This is far from a foregone conclusion by any means, but circumstances allow us to ask further questions surrounding this enormous “what if” scenario.
If Brooklyn’s dream sequence does play out, their summer will be far from over as general manager Sean Marks will be tasked with filling out the rest of the roster.
Especially in year one of this partnership, when Durant is likely to miss the entire 2019-20 season, building a deep roster will be crucial to taking the stress off of Irving and making a deeper playoff push than the year prior.
Due to the wheeling and dealing of Marks so far this offseason, the Nets are extremely close to having the necessary cap space for two max contract slots. According to NBA writer Keith Smith, the Nets are just over $2 million away from reaching that point.
This creativity by Marks allows the Nets to reach this magic number without sacrificing either Spencer Dinwiddie or Joe Harris. This would be pivotal towards putting out a stronger team even without Durant in year one.
With this in mind, we can take a crack at predicting a potential rotation for Kenny Atkinson’s squad next season.
