October 25th vs New York Knicks

After starting the season at home versus the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Nets will welcome their neighbors from across the East River, the New York Knicks, the following game.

The Knicks were considered front-runners for Irving and Durant by the media last season before they ended up signing in Brooklyn. While the Knicks struck out on signing Irving and Durant in the offseason, they drafted Duke forward RJ Barrett with the 3rd pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.

With the additions of Bobby Portis, Marcus Morris, and Julius Randle to a core featuring second-year players Mitchell Robinson and Kevin Knox, the Knicks will certainly be more competitive than last year. While the rivalry between the two teams isn’t as strong as seasons past, both rosters have improved and the battle of New York looks to start back up once again.

Despite lackluster seasons in recent memory, the Knicks and Nets seemingly always make for an interesting bout that results in a close finish. The back and forth between Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie and Knicks fans on Twitter has done nothing but add more kerosene to the already flaming inferno; let the battle for New York ensue!
