February 5th vs Golden State Warriors

D’Angelo Russell will make his return to Barclays Center next February when he and the Warriors make their lone visit to Brooklyn. With Kevin Durant likely to still be out recovering from his Achilles injury, Russell will be main focus coming into the game.

After a career year last year in Brooklyn, Russell was shipped to Golden State in a sign and trade after the Nets chose to sign Irving and Durant. Though things ended on good terms, Russell will be looking to show out in his return to Barclays Center.

Russell will most likely receive one of the warmest welcomes upon his introduction before the game. In his two seasons in Brooklyn, he improved in all areas and really grew into his own as a player. A lot of the Nets’ success last season can be attributed to Russell’s emergence as an NBA All-Star; this fanbase will show him nothing but adoration during player introductions.

Emotional attachment to his matchup aside, the Warriors still pose as a threat to the premier teams in the NBA, these are the types of matchups you want to build off of. The enticing combinations of Caris LeVert/Kyrie Irving versus Stephen Curry and D’Angelo Russell make this matchup borderline must-see television.
