Brooklyn Nets: Twitter Reacts To Caris LeVert’s Extension
Last night Brooklyn Nets young star Caris LeVert received his highly anticipated contract extension which will keep him on the team for three additional years. NBA fans all over Twitter had plenty to say!
Brooklyn Nets fans rejoiced last night as the fan favorite Caris LeVert got extended. Though this doesn’t come as a surprise, it certainly alleviates any tension Nets fans may have felt throughout the duration of the season.
The extension leaves just Joe Harris as the final remaining player awaiting his new contract, which would solidify the Brooklyn Nets as a legitimate threat over the next few seasons with their new core.

In 2020, the NBA’s free agency won’t just be lackluster relative to what we saw this summer, but the talent just isn’t there. There was never really a doubt in Brooklyn Nets’ fans minds that Caris would receive a new contract. Although they have very little money to spend, they own his Bird Rights, allowing the team to exceed the salary cap to retain him. This is also the case with Joe Harris, so expect a similar celebration in the coming months for his extension.
Caris even received love from Sacramento Kings star Buddy Hield.

Brooklyn Nets GM Sean Marks has made a name for himself these past few seasons, and as one Twitter user points out, Caris was in fact the first draft selection made under Sean’s reign.
As was mentioned yesterday in an article that can be found here, Caris was regularly the Brooklyn Nets best player on the court during their first round playoff series against Philadelphia. After finishing the series with three performances of twenty or more points, it was clear that the injury he suffered earlier in the season was no longer effecting him.
Also yes, we were very excited.
At the end of the day the Brooklyn Nets got to keep their man, and he deserves every penny. Nets fans will sleep well at night knowing they’ve got him for an additional three seasons.
