The Brooklyn Nets are in great shape this regular season as they picked up one of the best Point Guards in the league with Kyrie Irving.

The Brooklyn Nets are the underdogs of the most competitive teams as the NBA season gets in full swing. Many critics are basing the team’s success in Kevin Durant not being able to play this season and in the process are missing the main link to the team’s success which is Kyrie Irving.

Many fans seem to forget just how effective Irving can be. Irving was the first overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, spending his early years with the Cleveland Cavaliers. During his first season playing in Cleveland, Irving averaged 18.5 points and 5.4 assists per game.

Irving also went on that year to be recognized as the 2012 Rookie of the Year.

Irving has shown his leadership time and time again, but it was most prominent in 2016 where he won the NBA Championship with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Irving is often known as Mr. Fourth quarter as he capitalizes in high-pressure clutch situations. He showed that in his NBA Finals matchup against the Golden State Warriors where he went 6-11 in the 4th quarter and scored a three in the last minute of Game 7 which led the Cavaliers to a win and title.

He also helped the Boston Celtics become a better team when he requested a trade away from the Cavs in 2017.

There was his game against the Dallas Mavericks where Irving scored 47 points, 10 in overtime to push the Celtics to a much-needed win.

Irving will bring this same attitude and game to Brooklyn, arguably making him the most dangerous point guard in the Eastern Conference this coming season.

In the 2018-19 regular season, Irving averaged 23.8 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds per game.

The Eastern Conference is not too far from the Brooklyn Nets’ reach as they still have some key players this season in Garrett Temple, Joe Harris and DeAndre Jordan who will pick up the slack until Kevin Durant can make his long-awaited return to the team.

Kyrie Irving alone serves a huge deal to the team by bringing his versatility and ball-handling skills to the court.

His dynamic star power was already shown this regular season as he was the seventh Brooklyn Nets player to ever score 50.0 points in franchise history against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Kyrie Irving is considered to be one of the best point guards to step on the court and one of the biggest stars to put on a Brooklyn Nets Jersey.

With the help of Kyrie Irving, the Brooklyn Nets starting five is set to include Caris LeVert as the shooting guard, Joe Harris as the small forward, Rodions Kurucs as power forward and finally DeAndre Jordan playing center.

With this starting five, other teams in the east better look out for Kyrie Irving and his impact in Brooklyn.
