Could the Brooklyn Nets really part ways with Dinwiddie, LeVert, or Allen this summer?

With Kyrie Irving now joining Kevin Durant on the bench to heal up for next season, his remaining teammates now find themselves scrambling not just to salvage this “lost” season and make the playoffs, but to prove themselves as the right complimentary pieces for the Brooklyn Nets to move forward with. Despite these efforts though, some changes may still be on the way.

Whether any validity sparked it up or not, the NBA’s rumor factory once more finds itself in operation even with the always entertaining trade deadline in the rear view mirror. This time around, Nets players Jarrett Allen, Caris LeVert, and Spencer Dinwiddie find their names floating around, as some expect Brooklyn to make if not all three, at least one available this upcoming summer.

Not too long ago, Kyrie Irving briefly spoke on the teammates set to surround him and Kevin Durant next year, claiming that the front office might need to add a few more pieces to help the team win its first NBA Championship. Although Irving mentioned Dinwiddie and LeVert when describing players other than himself and Durant who might need assistance, he left out Allen.

While Irving’s statement certainly shows zero intention on his part to provoke the team into moving anyone this summer, trade scenarios involving Dinwiddie, LeVert, and Allen have nonetheless become a discussion topic across the league.

To trade away multiple young and talented players certainly seems like a move atypical to Brooklyn’s recent disinterest in any “quick routes” to the Larry O’Brien trophy having learned their lesson from Billy King’s ghost. However, the Nets will enter this offseason inheriting a position completely foreign to themselves with Durant and Irving at their dispose. With that said, playing it safe and sticking to an outdated offseason strategy fit for a team looking to rebuild rather than content might give berth to an different troubles. Due to this, potential trade scenarios involving the these players deserves some brief exploration at the very least.
