4. DeMarre Carroll – Houston Rockets

DeMarre Carroll proved to be a very important part of the Nets last season, averaging 11.5 points per game ion 34.2 percent shooting from distance—he’s streaky; when he’s on…he’s on. Of course, the same can be said when the shot isn’t falling.

He never seemed to find his footing in Gregg Popovich’s system in San Antonio this season, which ultimately led to the Spurs buying him out.

Carroll has seen his numbers improve in Houston in the six games he’s played there thus far, but it doesn’t seem like anything that would make his market value go up significantly.

As Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving attract multiple defenders every time they touch the ball, Carroll could theoretically camp out from behind-the-arc and get plenty of wide-open looks. Carroll can also provide some strong defense with his ability to body guys in the post or stay in front of defenders on the drive.

Carroll’s play can still get it done, but it also doesn’t hurt that he can also provide that leadership that is needed throughout the course of the season.
