Someone on Reddit revealed awesome Brooklyn Dodgers-inspired Nets jerseys.

This would be one of the easiest business decisions for the Brooklyn Nets. While we’ve come to love the “Bed-Stuy” and “BKLYN” alternate jerseys, there’s no doubt fans need some more spice in their life.

After all, the Nets sport a rather plain black-and-white look, so further inspiration and innovation would be nice, right?

So let’s get the ball rolling on these Brooklyn Dodgers-inspired alternates!

Someone on Reddit posted this, and now there’s no reason for the production to not commence. Fans in New York have missed the Brooklyn Dodgers ever since they left for Los Angeles back in 1957. Now, we finally have basketball in Brooklyn. Why not pay tribute to the old school with the new school?

Sorry, Clippers. Nets Nation is claiming this one. They’re just too good to pass up, and Brooklyn had the Dodgers first anyway. You’re not going to claim three championships in the eight years immediately after leaving and get away with it!

Plus, we gotta say, this rendition of these alternates is MUCH better than this attempt:

Also, the Nets jerseys of old were actually red, white and blue. That was largely the look from 1967-1990, so alternates like these wouldn’t totally be random. They’d have historical value both for the Nets franchise and the former baseball franchise that had been in the city from 1884-1957.

These would look beyond fresh on Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant, and you know they’d be ready to sport them in a heartbeat.

The Nets are going to be atop NBA headlines for the next three years, with Irving and KD running the show, so why not capitalize on that marketing and give fans another awesome piece of gear to purchase? Only thing we’ll have to make sure of is that the advertisement for these doesn’t have Kyrie’s face in the above picture front and center…
