Nets fans will love this wired Brook Lopez moment from Saturday.

Despite the fact that he’s now on an Eastern Conference rival, Brooklyn Nets fans really can’t help themselves but to root for Brook Lopez, who, of course, spent nine seasons with the franchise and ranks prominently across the record books.

The 32-year-old big man is Brooklyn’s all-time leader in points, field goals, blocks and offensive win shares, so it’s easy to see why he’s a fan favorite.

Since that’s obviously still the case, Nets Nation presumably enjoyed watching Lopez go to work against the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday night. Though the Milwaukee Bucks ultimately fell short due to the superb play of Luka Doncic down the stretch, Lopez delivered one of his best performances of the year. In 35 minutes, he scored a season-high 32 points, which included a remarkable 6-of-12 from beyond the arc.

The 12-year veteran’s teammates unsurprisingly hyped him up throughout the game, and mic’d up guard Pat Connaughton provided a moment that fans in Brooklyn are bound to love.

Somebody bombard ESPN with emails demanding that they search the archives from last night’s nail-biter for that clip, because we need that in our lives right now. Though he’s started 64 games,  Lopez turning back the clock to his Brooklyn days hasn’t happened as much as we would have liked this season.

That is, however, to be expected, as Milwaukee’s offense runs entirely through MVP finalist Giannis Antetokounmpo. The former No. 10 overall pick spends most of his time behind the 3-point line these days, which was resulted in him posting just 11.7 points and 4.6 rebounds per game on 43% shooting.

Last night was much of the same, but Lopez got off to a hot start and built off that confidence, as evidenced by his impressive highlight reel.

Make no mistake about it, folks: Once Brooklyn is eliminated from the playoffs, we will be pulling for Lopez (not the Bucks!) to cut down the nets when all is said and done. The Stanford product simply means that much to the franchise. He deserves a championship.
