Nets star Kevin Durant summed up his Twitter personality with his latest reply.

Remember when Kevin Durant refused to acknowledge how sensitive he was to criticism from anonymous “fans” on social media? The Brooklyn Nets star has allegedly been caught on numerous occasions in the past attempting to defend his name behind a burner account.

Of course, these consistent tongue lashings came in the wake of his polarizing decision to join the Golden State Warriors as a free agent in 2016, just a few months after they overcame a 3-1 deficit to defeat his Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference Finals.

We are now more than four years removed from that bombshell, and it goes without saying that Durant has matured, albeit to an extent. While he still claps back at social media trolls, he doesn’t hide from it anymore.

In fact, the two-time Finals MVP’s latest reply on Twitter perfectly encapsulates how he approaches this walk of life.

Whether you’re a fan of Durant’s antics doesn’t really matter here. If you’re not about it, then don’t follow him. It’s as simple as that.

The fact is that we’ve waited years for the 10-time All-Star to own his need, for lack of a better term, to venture to the depths of “NBA Twitter” and eviscerate haters for disrespecting him.

Not every NBA star is built like this, but that’s what makes Durant so fascinating. He’s so obsessed with his craft that he gladly partakes in heated conversations with a Twitter user who literally still has the default egg as his or her avi.

In some cases, however, he goes for the jugular of some social media heavyweights.

It would be entirely disrespectful and erroneous to call these back-and-forths meaningless, because they hold a ton of value in Durant’s eyes. At some point, we’re all going to have to accept this as a reality.

Keep doing you, KD.
