4. Package the Pick for a Star

No matter how hard one might try, the “third star for Brooklyn” topic remains an inescapable narrative for not only Net fans, but NBA followers as a whole. Although LeVert certainly proved his capability to fill this role during his stellar stint within the NBA’s playoff bubble, the inclination to pursue even more star power this offseason continues to cloud Brooklyn’s front office as an incredibly persuasive force.

With names such as Bradley Beal, Joel Embiid, LaMarcus Aldridge, and even Giannis Antetokounmpo being rumored across the league, opposing names such as Jarrett Allen, LeVert, and even Dinwiddie become increasingly jeopardized as a result. Packaged with Brooklyn’s pick, these players might help line up an exchange, bringing even further superstar power to the borough.

Likely headed for a rebuild, San Antonio feels like the most obvious option to part ways with a star to gain back some younger talent, placing Aldridge high on Brooklyn’s trade target list if they select this option and choose to pencil one together. Aldridge certainly appears as a player headed for further decline, so he may only cost one player paired with the pick. But despite his growing age, Aldridge still remains an adequate option to help fulfill the team’s need for a strong power forward.

Players like Beal, Embiid, and even Antetokounmpo however call for the Nets front office to dig deeper into its pockets. Although likely warranting Brooklyn to part ways with the pick, alongside Dinwiddie, LeVert, and Allen, the haul seems to weigh enough for the Nets to add a more bonafide third star, further allowing them to ascend as an undoubted favorite going into the 2020-21 season barring any significant offseason moves made by other contenders.

This move forces one to heavily ponder the always debated depth vs. talent argument, but with the Marks and Joseph Tsai team having frequently expressed their intentions to pursue a title with aggression, its chances to tilt towards talent’s direction cannot go ignored.
