Nets Draft Grade 2020

Some Nets fans might be a bit frustrated with Marks after last night, as a GM who built this team on draft picks right after the lottery traded away a top-20 pick for a likely bench player. However, if one wants to look at this class through rose-colored lenses, Brooklyn offloaded the pick for a player that could contribute right away as opposed to a developmental player who likely won’t see much time on a contending team. Late second-round picks aren’t always very consequential, but Perry stands out as one of the best from the latter half of that round.

On a night where some teams used premium picks on developmental players and Euro-stashes who might not come to fruition for a few years from now, the Nets added a proven NBA role player that fits their offense and a power forward with oodles of talent that somehow managed to slip to the 57th overall pick. While they didn’t make that one huge move that takes the fanbase’s breath away, it’s hard to nitpick and find much wrong with what Marks did last night.

Overall Grade: B
