No. 2: SG JJ Redick, New Orleans Pelicans

Redick figured to be a solid veteran glue guy who could take a backseat to the Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram show in New Orleans, but it appears as though the Pelicans are farther away from contending than anticipated. Redick has been looking for a way out, with Brooklyn and the New York Knicks atop his list of destinations.

A few years ago, this would’ve been a no-brainer move for the Nets, as Redick was one of the best shooters in the game. Unfortunately, Redick’s meal ticket that helped him earn such a long NBA career is starting to fade away.

Redick’s trademark 3-point shot is starting to fade. He wouldn’t help the Nets.

Redick is scoring just 7.8 points per game, his lowest average since the 2008-09 season with the Orlando Magic. At least he’s draining threes, right? Nope. His 36% success rate from the field and 35% clip from 3-point range would both be the worst marks he’s put up in his career, which has to be a worrying sign.

Redick would add value to a team in need of some bench shooting, but reserves like Landry Shamet and Tyler Johnson already provide offense and shooting without any defensive quality. Redick would be a square peg that wouldn’t fit in Brooklyn’s round hole.
