No. 1: Greg Brown, PF, Texas

While a true center could be high on the priority list, the loss of Taurean Prince proved that the Nets could use another stretch power forward in addition to the aging Jeff Green. Considering the success they’ve had with Texas big men in the past in Jarrett Allen, Brown might be high on Brooklyn’s draft board.

Brown, who is averaging 10.6 points and 6.7 rebounds per game this season, is in competition with teammate Kai Jones, as both could end up being first-round picks. However, if Brooklyn wants a ready-made player that could help win right now, Brown is far and away the safer choice.

How could Greg Brown help the Brooklyn Nets?

With incredible length that allows him to defend basically any position, a 3-point shot that is better than most bigs at this stage of their careers, and some jaw-dropping athletic ability, Brown could be one of Brooklyn’s key reserves in 2021 if Marks ends up taking him.

Brown is a stringbean that will need to put on some weight, but he is the more pro-ready of Texas’ big men, and his willingness to snipe from 3-point range could make him a better fit in Brooklyn’s offense than some of his poor-shooting competition. Don’t be surprised if the Nets move up if it means they can secure Brown.
