3. Vince Carter

In a shocking move, Toronto traded Vince Carter to New Jersey on Dec. 17, 2004, in exchange for Alonzo Mourning, Eric Williams, Aaron Williams, and two first-round picks.

In the 57 games that he played in for the Nets during the 2004-05 season, Carter averaged 27.5 points, which is the highest single-season scoring average for a player in the organization in the NBA era.

In his first game back in Canada, Carter scored 39 points in a 101-80 win. A year later on Jan. 8, 2006, he knocked down a game-winning 3-point shot in Toronto.

In 2006-07, Carter averaged 25.2 points per game and then 24.2 points in 2005-06. The three-time All-Star never averaged fewer than 20 points per game during the 4.5 seasons he spent in New Jersey.

During the 2008-09 season, he averaged 20.8 points per game but was traded to the Magic on June 25, 2009.

He averaged 23.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.7 assists in 374 games for the Nets and was voted to the All-Star Game three times. He’s regarded as one of the best dunkers of all time.

From 2004-2009, Carter scored 8,834 points.

Carter retired from the NBA on June 25, 2020, after 22 seasons.
