Brooklyn Nets Underrated Head Coach Option: Terry Stotts

Terry Stotts was essentially the Quin Snyder of 2021. He once helped carry a young Western Conference team to the playoffs after years of mediocrity. However, his Portland Trail Blazers kept falling short, leading to his eventual demise.

The Blazers made Stotts into the scapegoat behind their playoff woes, but a year later, almost everyone can see that as a misfire. Portland missed the playoffs by a landslide in their first year without him and even though Damian Lillard missed time, they were well on their way to the lottery before the injury bug took its bite.

As a younger coach with experience both in the playoffs and coaching stars, Stotts would immediately provide a sense of stability for a team that needs it perhaps more than any other unit in league history right now.

Nets sharp shooter Seth Curry also spoke about Stotts’s tendency to let his guards play freely a few years back. That sounds like a dream leader for a gifted offensive weapon like Kyrie Irving.
