1. New York Knicks

The Knicks currently sit as the fifth seed in the East. As of now, the Knicks would match up with the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round, but with four games left in the regular season, the seeding is far from final.

If the Nets were to square off with the Knicks, the New York rivalry would be intense. With both teams looking to advance to the next round, the rivalry would only make things even more intense. Brooklyn could match up well with the Knicks due to their size and ability to send different defensive lineups and coverages to slow down Julius Randle and Jalen Brunson. The Nets defensive frontcourt of Dorian Finney-Smith and Nic Claxton will have to be prepared to play at their best on a nightly basis. If not, the Knicks could have their way, especially on the offensive glass.

The matchup on the other end of the floor could favor the Nets in a few ways as well. The wing battle between Mikal Bridges and RJ Barrett could be an underrated duel. If Bridges and Dinwiddie can find ways to break down New York’s defense, it could be a long series for the Knicks.
